The Wizard of Oz, Book vs. Movie

Dear Readers,
I have another book vs. movie post, and this one is about the Wizard of Oz. I recently finshed the book, and I noticed a lot of changes from the movie. Here is a list of things. I won't list all of them because I think that you should read the book and I don't want to spoil it!
  1. It's not red slippers, it's silver slippers!
  2. The original Wizard of Oz describes a different appearance for Dorothy, the Lion, the Scarecrow and the Tin Woodsman.
  3. They see the Wizard one at a time.
I think that 3 differences is enough, especially as they are the strongest, at least I thought! I hope that you read the Wizard of Oz!

  1. Hi! I love the Wizard of Oz book and movie. I've even read the sequels. I hadn't noticed some of the differences, so it was really interesting reading your perspective. Have you read "Dorothy and the Wizard in Oz"? There are a lot of different new characters in it.

  2. When I read Oz (and watched the movie) a few years ago, I was quite surprised about how different they were. I think that everyone takes to Oz differently, and that's why they made the movie so different from the books.
